Overrated. I had my wedding rehearsal dinner here and my crab cakes were rancid. The cheese with some kind of marinara sauce appetizer was terrible. Micki's bar on the other side is a decent place for happy hour (great mini pizzas), but I will never go here for dinner again.

Great place to eat and meet up with friends. Like it even more since it went smoke free about a year or so ago. (Don't know if others in the community thought so. I admire the owners for taking the place smoke free though. Way to go!) Great owners and staff. The Veal Prudhomme is absolutely awesome. Try ordering it, even if it's not on the menu. It is fantastic!!!! I'd come here to eat, just to order this meal!!! Plus, the atmosphere is like a bit of New Orleans right in the heart of Bowling Green.

The wife and I decided to come in to celebrate a date night. I looked online and called to make a reservation...although it was only an hour's notice. Luckily, the restaurant was able to accommodate this request. I got the 10 oz filet mignon, cooked medium, and it melted in my mouth. It was on part with a Ruth chris steak, minus the hot plate. The waitress was extremely friendly, and we could tell she genuinely cared about how we were doing. All in all, it was a great experience for a special occasion. Thanks for a great night!

We loved our food. From the cajun spring rolls and steak to the chicken special everything was delicious. Topped off with fabulous service, I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Great food and atmosphere. The specials are great. I had the a grilled fish special. Gumbo is excellent. Attentive service. Ask for Isabelle or Shelby.

Went to the 440 for our 24th anniversary. Brilliant menu with a Louisiana flavor. Reasonable price for the preparation. The service was the best. We defiantly plan on stopping by whenever we are in the area.

This place was extremely good!! I was here with my family to celebrate in the Bowling Green area, and I would come back any day. We ordered two appetizers to split between the eight if us, first was the "egg rolls" which said they were egg rolls and looked liked it on the outside but when you bit into them you got a flood of warm cheese that you were not expecting in the least!!! Then the next appetizer was the artichoke dip, which was hot and very creamy and good. For my main dish I had the Cajun inspired jumbalia , which was filled with big meaty shrimp, sausages, and lots of good, spicy, Cajun inspired flavors. For the dessert I had, for the very first time, a banana foster. It was good but in my opinion it was a bit too sweet for my taste. Luckily I was able to share it with another member at my table, so it was still very sweet but didn't over indulge in it. I adored the atmosphere here!! With the waitresses always being their checking on you and filling up your glass, to the white table cloths and china sitting on the table, to the art on the walls. This is a very nice restaurant in the heart of the very small town of Bowling Green Kentucky!! I would certainly come here again!

Hands down nicest place I've found in Bowling Green. It's these two narrow spaces, a bar side that's more casual (Mikey's) and the dinner side that's more formal (440 Main). Protip, you can order off either menu on either side. The Mikey's menu is largely burgers and flatbread pizzas, the 440 menu is more entrees. They both look pretty good. I had the grouper on jalapeno grits and would highly recommend, very tasty. The jambalaya looked good too. The Mikey's dishes were all $10-15, 440 started around $15 and went up. They have flights of bourbon, a decent wine list ($8-9/glass though), and a pretty short but not bad beer list. When we went in on a Weds at 7:30, the place was packed. When we left at 9:30 it was dead, but apparently they serve until midnight!

Excellent food, excellent service... would absolutely return again. There were four of us on a business trip and this was the best dinner all week. I was especially pleased with my seafood pasta dish - two of us ordered it and the plates were empty. I'm not usually one for desert but we tried two: the cheesecake (very cream), and the creme brulee (excellent). Overall... I will return on my next trip.

I'm a Connecticut guy in Bowling Green KY....I really did not know what to expect any fine dining in this area but the concierge recommended 440 Main. I was somewhat skeptical about this place but let me tell you this place is the BOMB! I loved it! started with two appetizers the buffalo style fried oysters and the popcorn shrimp both were to die for the oysters were out of this world, amazing for this part of the Country. Then came the Jambalaya and the fried grouper over grits...are you kidding me!! they were so delicious they are probably the best I have had anywhere in the Northeast. Here is the best part...your in Kentucky right the home of KY bourbon. They offer three 1 oz drinks of local bourbon for $10 to $14 bucks! this alone in the Northeast would cost $40 $50. the Bourbon was very good, Here is what made the evening the OWNER is awesome! he knew we were from out of town and recommended everything we ate that night, he was friendly and made special request in the kitchen for us. who does that??....Highly recommend this place, if I lived here I would be a regular.

We were visiting family in the area and this was our first time in. Sam was our server. He was very sincere and attentive. Our table had fried green tomatoes, mussels, and Cajun spring rolls. All were excellent. I tried the gumbo, which I really enjoyed. Cajun food should have some spice to it, but it should not be uncomfortable to eat. Many places are afraid to put enough seasoning in their dishes, but the gumbo was just right. The entrees were all spot on as well. I ordered a couple of Manhatan martinis, so I can attest that the bartender knows what he is doing. Our group all concured that we will be back. The only regret that we found the place the last night of our stay, or I would have come back to try out the bar next door. 440 Main St., earned all five of the stars in this rating!

Looking for a fun - non-chain restaurant in Bowling Green? I was and a buddy recommended 440. Its on the square has some nice character. Dishes have a Louisiana flare. Shrimp and grits appetizer was very nice. Bourbon salmon was properly cooked and tasty. Nice list of wines by the glass - service was solid. Will visit on my next visit.

The last time I was here was to celebrate our 13th anniversary. Food was mediocre and service was bad, very inattentive. I decided to give it another shot tonight for our 14th anniversary. Wish I had better news to report. Complimentary half-glass of champagne was a very thoughtful touch (I had told them it was our anniversary). Ordered the steamed mussels to share, spinach salads each. I ordered the seared scallops and my wife had the bourbon-glazed salmon. About 20 mussels came out in a shallow bowl, but we soon discovered that over half of them didn't open and were dead. Called the waitress over and she removed them from the table. She made an excuse about a new kitchen staff. Salads were fine, but unremarkable (tough to ruin a salad). Both entree were severely undercooked when they came out, so we sent them back and they cooked them some more. When they came back, a casually-dressed man came over to watch us try them again. The scallops were passable, but still translucent in the very center, and the salmon was done this time. He (manager? owner? he never introduced himself) seemed incredulous that I thought the scallop were just barely cooked. Not a good impression from him. When check came, the mussels had been removed, but still full-price for everything else and no offer to make amends in any other way. Paid the bill and decided that we won't be back.

We came back to take a good friend out for a nice meal and I'm glad we did! Apparently the kitchen that prepared our meal before has been overturned because everything was cooked to perfection this time around. Our server, Carrie, did an amazing job! She kept our table cleared of dishes, set us up with fresh silverware after every course, and was just on top of everything. To be completely honest, our trip to 440 Main this time around was better than any experience my wife and I have had in Nashville's fine dining scene. Bowling Green is doing it right.

Was in town from New York for a baseball tournament with my son and his friend and needed a good meal. Well we found it. The food, drinks and atmosphere was awesome. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates good food. Most of all our waitress Isabella was extremely polite, well versed on the menu and provided us with exceptional service. In addition, the owner or manager is a true gentleman. My son ordered a dish that although was cooked to perfection he just did not like it. Isabella noticed that he wasn't eating it and immediately without hesitation offered him another meal. I insisted on paying for the dish as there was nothing wrong with it, but both Isabella and the owner insisted back that it was being removed from my bill. I felt bad about it and consider this a very generous policy. The owner said "that's how we do things around here." Great place and great people! Highly recommend.

The place is a restaurant on side and a bar on the other. The restaurant is easily the best restaurant in town. Decent wine selection. Good, reasonably priced (not cheap) food. The bar has a great atmosphere. This is my favorite place in bg. Burgers a real, hand-packed burgers, not some factory packaged crap. Service is usually good. Five layer chocolate cake is awesome. Skip the chain restaurants, go there.

Over-spiced and over-priced. You have an option between two dining rooms: one very fancy white tablecloth and crystal and the other a bar with booths and Louisiana sports paraphernalia everywhere. I can recommend the Cajun pizza and the bread pudding, but I don't recommend the pasta: it's overpowering. They also go too crazy with the capers. Overall, expensive place for not-the-best food.

I had a friend coming in from Pittsburgh, pa. I wanted to take her somewhere nice for dinner. I asked around and was told that 440 main was very good. I ordered a house salad (that comes out of bag), crab cakes. And steam vegetables. The bag salad was awful the steamed vegetables were cold and has seen better days and the crab cakes were barely warm. My friend ordered a salad (once again out of a bag), rib eye steak and garlic mashed potatoes. The plate was very hot (thinking microwave) the steak was very fatty (she did say what she could eat of that it had a good flavor) and the garlic mashed potatoes were semi-warm and very lack luster. All this fine dining cost nearly $50 .... Really fine dining I think not!!

Stopped by here in Bowling Green for the day to visit the museum. I had the Jambalaya and it was nothing to write home about. Very "soupy", I'm used to it being that way. We're from Texas and can find much better in my opinion but maybe there are some regional aspects in play here, who knows. The restaurant has two sides, a "fancy" side and sports bar type side. We were on the fancier side. Service was fine as well as the restaurant itself. Nice and clean. We'd probably wouldn't go again but we don't live here. There aren't just a ton of choices.
